Members of the Party,For too long, Vietnam has endured the crushing weight of foreigners stomping our lands and taking away the hard work of our people. The country has suffered under the umbrellas of the French and Japanese empires, and is now oppressed by the American imperialists who do not wish to see our people united.But I promise you this: we will never surrender to them. We will not take pity at them as North Korea has. They were very close to winning the war and yet chose to end in a draw! This will be a great struggle for our people, but only through hard work and sacrifice can our dreams and ambitions of freedom be achieved.  We shall adopt new tactics for dealing with the gradual increase in foreign troops, and reach out to our friendly neighbors for new supply routes. Do not be discouraged, for if the imperialists seek to use the weight of their army against us then we shall counter with the courage and stubbornness of our people!
