Honorable Men and Women of the Cabinet,
The great nation of France has entered a period of unprecedented economic, scientific, and cultural growth; this much cannot be denied. As such, it is time that we finally step up to the mantle of Western European leadership that is rightfully ours. For too long, we have allowed ourselves to be dominated by American and British interests which, however well-intentioned, fail to meet the needs of the democracies of continental Europe. Now, as the rest of the world immerses itself in petty squabbles and proxy wars, France must assert herself. Together, we shall set forth to forge our own foreign policies of grandeur and reestablish the French Fifth Republic as the undisputed icon of conservative Western leadership.
