Nearly three decades have passed since the assassination of Augusto César Sandino, the last true champion of Nicaraguan sovereignty. Three decades of corrupt dictatorship, of imperial domination. It has gone too far. We have watched our Marxist brothers in Cuba overthrow the American puppet regime in their country; we know that it can be done.It is time for the people of Nicaragua to rise up to overthrow the yoke of the corrupt Somoza regime. As the leaders of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, we must seize this opportunity to guide our people to freedom. The United States is preoccupied. The Somoza dictatorship is weak. Together, we will liberate our great nation.
