ABOUT KING PHILIP II OF MACEDONIA

In the tales of the Ancient World, much room is left to cover the exploits of Alexander the Great, but what of the man who set the stage for his greatness? Phillip II of Macedonia, who lived from 382 to 336 B.C., came to power at a tumultuous time in Ancient Greek, with various city-states to the South still vying for dominance and the looming threat of the Persians from the East. However, through his vision, Phillip II sought to unite the Greeks under one Kingdom. In committee, delegates will represent the various rulers of Macedonia throughout the campaign in Northern Greece, which would ultimately result in the founding of the Hellenic League with Phillip as elected hegemon.
