SENIOR STAFF POSITIONS

CHAIR

Chairs lead the dais of each committee and moderate debate, keep time, rule on points and motions, and enforce parliamentary procedure. For this position, experience in Model United Nations is recommended.

CRISIS DIRECTOR

Crisis directors lead the crisis room staff and manage committee arcs. They are in charge of the flow of committee events and the crisis updates that make the conference fun. For this position, experience in Model United Nations and crisis committees are recommended.

VICE CHAIR

Vice chairs are members of the dais. They help the chair run debate and assist in procedural matters. Vice chairs may chair the committee at the discretion of the Chair. Model United Nations experience is not required for this position.

ASSISTANT CRISIS DIRECTOR

Assistant crisis directors help the crisis director in running the crisis room. They also work with crisis staffers on individual crisis arcs and answering crisis notes.

Before applying for a senior staff position, please make yourself aware of your position’s expectations prior to the conference. This includes completing your background guide on time and completing any additional assignments as requested. Deadlines will be communicated to you by your assigned Under-Secretary-General.

COMMITTEE & CONFERENCE STAFF POSITIONS

LOGISTICS STAFFER

Logistics staffers work with the Director of Operations to help handle logistical matters during conference weekend. They usually do many different jobs, including running props, requisition forms, managing merchandise sales, and print-outs between rooms.

PUBLIC RELATIONS STAFFER

The public relations team works with the Director of Media and Marketing to document BarMUN XIX, whether it be through taking photos and videos of the conference, social media and content production, or multimedia means. Photography and editing experience is preferred.

COMMITTEE STAFFER

In crisis committees, committee staffers work under the Crisis and Assistant Crisis Directors of a committee, answering delegate notes and assisting in crisis updates. For General Assemblies and Specialized committees, staffers will assist dais members as needed. No MUN experience is required.
