Esteemed Delegates,

Change doesn’t happen quietly. It begins with a single voice before gathering force and becoming a wave strong enough to reshape the future. At BarMUN XIX, we believe that every delegate has the potential to make waves.

It is with immense pride and excitement that I welcome you to the nineteenth iteration of BarMUN, a premier Model United Nations conference dedicated to connection, growth, and community. From October 1st-3rd, we look forward to welcoming you to the historic Hilton Boston Park Plaza in the heart of Boston. Over the course of the weekend, delegates from around the world will come together to debate policy, test ideas against resistance, and refine their leadership through collaboration.

This year, we proudly present 18 distinct committees that are built to challenge you and immerse delegates in truly thought-provoking simulations. Every room offers a different tide to navigate. Every committee offers a new opportunity to leave your mark.

Our theme, Make Waves, reflects the spirit of our Secretariat and the turbulent realities of the world we simulate. We live in a time marked by systemic inequality and policies that too often reinforce barriers instead of extending opportunity. At BarMUN XIX, we challenge you to make waves boldly and creatively in your own way, transforming debate into meaningful change.

Our Secretariat and staff have dedicated themselves to building an experience that is ambitious, welcoming, and most importantly, fun. Whether this is your first conference or one of many, we have worked to create an experience that is inspiring, engaging, and unforgettable. As the days count down, we eagerly await your arrival in the beautiful city of Boston. Thank you for trusting us with your time, your energy, and your voices.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to sg@barmun.org and dg@barmun.org. Our Director of Delegate Affairs is also happy to assist at dda@barmun.org.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard.

Land Acknowledgment

BarMUN XIX, hosted in close alignment with Indigenous Peoples’ Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, recognizes the land that the City of Boston and Boston University lie on and its historical connection to several indigenous groups, including the Wampanoag and the Massachusett peoples. In addition, we recognize and respect the connections these groups held to other indigenous nations located throughout the region, as they continue to shape Boston, its history, and its people into the place we love today. While Indigenous Peoples’ Day in particular honors the history of our ancestors, the BarMUN Secretariat understands that this statement does not undo the harm inflicted upon these peoples and their land over several centuries. We thus encourage our community to educate themselves upon our past injustices, and remain accountable to them, on this day and every day.
